A person was killed after being hit by a train Saturday night in West Homestead.

At 11:18 p.m. Saturday, a CSX train hit a person on the tracks near West Fifth Avenue and West Waterfront Drive in West Homestead, said CSX spokesman Austin Staton.

Allegheny County 911 was notified, Staton said. Emergency personnel found the person dead at the scene.

The victim was not identified.

There were no injuries to the train crew, Staton said.

“CSX extends its deepest sympathies to everyone impacted by this tragic incident,” Staton said.
