Letter to the editor: Enough of Trump’s lies, desecration and disdain

The president stood up and said quite explicitly that the White House would not be affected by the building of his monstrous, tasteless and gaudy ballroom, which I’m sure will bear his name. Once again he lied. No surprise there.

I think if his lips are moving, he’s lying. I was saddened to see the desecration of the symbol of our country, our beautiful and historic White House. The whole East Wing gone. Where will all this end? Are there no patriotic Republicans in Washington who will stand up and say “enough is enough”?

Seven million people took to the streets to protest the president’s policies. What they got was a childish video of the king spewing feces on his subjects. As nothing else could, this shows the total disdain he has for the American people.

Unless you are wealthy, or a dictator, it seems he does not respect you. What will he tear down next? The Statue of Liberty? It does seem to encourage us to welcome immigrants.

If we have midterms, and I’m doubtful we will, please vote all Republicans — good, bad and indifferent — out of office. They are aiding and abetting him. In my opinion, President Trump is just a puppet. It’s Stephen Miller and the authors of Project 2025 who are pulling his strings. God save the USA.
