Michelle Langdon appeared to have won the race for Jeannette mayor, beating out incumbent Curtis Antoniak, according to unofficial returns.
With all precincts reporting, Langdon had 52% of the vote to secure the four-year seat. Antoniak finished with 39% of the vote.
Langdon, 68, has served on council for the past four years. She previously worked five years for the city in varying roles including chief fiscal officer and clerk. She was on the Democratic ticket.
Langdon also appeared to have won reelection to her council seat. She will have to pick in which role she wants to serve. She could not be reached late Tuesday after all of the unofficial results were tabulated.
Antoniak, 66, was on the Republican ticket seeking his third term as mayor. There were about 2,250 votes cast in the race, including 200 write-in votes.
The mayor oversees the police department and is compensated $2,400 annually.
