Minor league report: Nailers’ winning streak snapped

Forward Brayden Edwards had a goal and an assist for the Wheeling Nailers in a 3-2 loss to the Reading Royals at Santander Arena in Reading on Sunday.

Defenseman Brent Johnson recorded two assists for Wheeling (9-2-0-0), which had an eight-game winning streak snapped.

Goaltender Maxim Pavlenko made 18 saves on 21 shots as his record at the ECHL level fell to 3-2-0.

Highlights:

Earlier in the day, Pavelenko was assigned to Wheeling from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League.

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Royals on Tuesday, 10:30 a.m.
