The deadline to dispose of live Christmas trees in some North Hills is quickly approaching.
Monday is the last day trees can be dropped off in North Park. Trees are being collected from 8 a.m. to dusk in the parking lot of the swimming pool and will be turned into mulch for use in the parks.
Franklin Park
Jan. 14 also is the last day for the borough’s two-week tree recycling program. Residents need to place trees to the curb by 6 a.m.
Marshall Township
Residents can place their trees out for pickup on their regular trash collection days through Wednesday, Jan. 16. Trees must be cut into 4-foot sections.
McCandless
Through Friday, Jan. 18, residents can place their trees to the curb on any day for pickup by the public works department, which will chip them for mulch. The mulch will be piled in the parking lot of the Lorraine F. Rogers Memorial Soccer Field in the spring for use by town residents.
Between Jan. 21 and Jan. 31, residents can place trees to the curb on their regular trash days for free pickup. People who live along rural roads in the town can place their trees out for pickup throughout the month.
Residents in Bradford Wood, West View and Ross can place their trees out to the curb for free pickup on their regular trash collection day.
