President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump arrive for a reception for NATO leaders at 10 Downing Street in London, Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019. Trump and his NATO counterparts were gathered Tuesday in London to mark the alliance’s 70th birthday amid deep tensions as spats between leaders expose a lack of unity that risks undermining military organization’s credibility.

The unauthorized biography of first lady Melania Trump by CNN correspondent Kate Bennett that was released Tuesday provides details of her marriage of President Donald Trump.

The title “Free, Melania: the Unauthorized Biography,” offers details of life inside the White House such as Melania and the president not only sleep in different bedrooms but on different floors. The book also posits that the president requested a lock on his bedroom door.

But CNN explained the marriage is on solid ground.

“Their marriage is a lot more solid than public might think,” Bennett reported. “Melania tends to look stoic, but behind the scenes there’s certainly a lot of respect.”

Bennett wrote that Melania Trump is “way more powerful and influential with her husband” than people might assume, with a say in some White House personnel decisions.

The book reveals insights on Melania’s relationship with another Trump: Ivanka.

When Melania wore a jacket last year with the words “I don’t really care, do you?” on the back, it was meant to be a jab at the president’s oldest daughter.

“I believed, and still do, that the jacket was a facetious jab at Ivanka and her near-constant attempts to attach herself for positive administration talking points,” Bennett wrote.

Melania Trump was photographed wearing the jacket in June 2018 during a visit to an immigrant children’s detention center in Texas.

Their relationship is described in the book as “cordial, not close.”

In another revelation, Bennett said a kidney treatment that led to Melania’s 25-day absence from public view last year was more serious and painful than previously revealed. The biography claims Melania was in jeopardy of losing her kidney.
