The weekend is here. We’ve got some ways to spend it.
Pittsburgh Fall Home Show
A smaller version of the annual spring Pittsburgh Home & Garden Show – The Pittsburgh Fall Home Show – will bloom Friday through Sunday at the David Lawrence Convention Center. There will be 200 vendors spaced to social distance. Aisle space is double the normal width. It is recommended that guests wear masks.
Vendors range from kitchen and bathroom companies to floor covering supplies to windows and farm-to-table offerings — with local growers and wineries showcasing food and drink.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the show and are good for a return on other show days. Tickets are $10 for adults and $4 for children 6 to 12. Children younger than 6 are free.

Meeting of the marked
The 28th annual Meeting of the Marked, a tattoo convention, is from 2 to 10 p.m. Friday, noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Doubletree Pittsburgh/Greentree hotel.
More than 100 artists from all over the U.S. will be doing live tattooing, with competitions for the best designs, including recognition for tattoo of the day. Tattoo artist Dana Brunson, who has locations in Ohio and Kentucky, has a museum collection of tattoo memorabilia from 1905 to the 1960s. He will bring some of the items to the show.

Columbus Day Parade
The Pittsburgh Columbus Day Parade begins at 11 a.m. Saturday. Liberty Avenue in Bloomfield will become a festive atmosphere for the event, which will feature 100 bands, floats, organizations and businesses showcasing the region’s Italian history.
Pittsburgh Steelers great Franco Harris will serve as grand marshal.
The route will begin near West Penn Hospital on Liberty Avenue and proceed toward the Bloomfield Bridge.
Attendees are asked to follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention covid guidelines.

Happy Troll-O-Ween
The Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Oakland’s fall show “Happy Troll-O-Ween” opens Saturday. It will include an array of chrysanthemums in a kaleidoscope of fall colors, along with the mythical creatures that made their debut in the summer show, “The Hidden Life of Trolls.”
The trolls are both stationary and animatronic. Mascots Fen and Ivy will be dressed in Halloween costumes.
Visitors are invited to come dressed in their favorite look.
Masks are recommended for all guests and required for unvaccinated guests ages 2 and older.
Tickets are $19.95, $17.95 for 62 and up and students over 18, $11.95 ages 2-18

Something’s brewing
Three Rivers Beer Week will be brewing Friday through Sunday. It is hosted by the Pittsburgh Brewers Guild.
A series of happenings are planned at several breweries, such as a pumpkin fall festival, tap takeovers and release parties.
A mini keg ride is being held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. Bikers travel to four participating breweries, beginning at East End Brewing Co. in Larimer and riding to Two Frays Brewery in Garfield, Trace Brewing in Bloomfield, and across the river to Allegheny City Brewing on the North Side, and back to East End. Cost for the ride is $20 for a beer from each participating brewery.
