Comedian John Mulaney has announced a Sept. 24 date at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, the final show in the second leg of his “John Mulaney: From Scratch” tour.

Produced by Live Nation, the tour begins March 11 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre and makes stops across North America before wrapping up in Pittsburgh.

Best known for his work as a writer and “Weekend Update” anchor on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” Mulaney will return to host the show for the fifth time on Saturday.

He has headlined as a stand-up comedian since 2008, the year he was asked to audition for SNL after performing on “Late Night With Conan O’Brien.”

Recently, Mulaney’s personal life has provided tabloid fodder, including a stint in rehab for drug and alcohol use, along with divorce from wife Annamarie Tendler and subsequent revelation of his relationship with actress Olivia Munn, with whom he shares a son, born in November.

His “From Scratch” material addresses these issues in the comedian’s signature self-aware style, in a way that Vulture called “(c)andid, loose, sometimes hard to watch, sometimes so funny it made the audience convulse in laughter.”

Mulaney has appeared in a number of movies and in supporting roles on television shows such as “Crashing,” “Portlandia” and “Difficult People.” He provided the voice of Spider-Ham in the Academy Award-winning animated film, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” and currently is the voice of a lead character on the animated Netflix series, “Big Mouth.”

His three comedy specials — “New in Town,” from 2012; “The Comeback Kid,” from 2015; and 2018’s “Kid Gorgeous,” from 2018 — are available on Netflix.

General ticket sales start at 10 a.m. Friday on ticketmaster.com.
