Cinemark will reopen its Pennsylvania theaters on Friday, including these Southwestern Pennsylvania locations, in accordance with updated local covid mandates:
• Cinemark Monroeville Mall and XD, 600 Mall Circle Drive
• Cinemark North Hills and XD, 851 Providence Blvd., McCandless
• Cinemark Robinson Township and XD, 2100 Settlers Ridge Center Drive
• Cinemark Center Township Marketplace, 99 Wagner Road, Monaca, Beaver County.
The theaters will be showing new and classic films. New titles will include “Wonder Woman 1984,” “News of the World,” “Promising Young Woman,” “Monster Hunter” and others.
Movie-goers also can book a Private Watch Party to view a film of their choice with the group of their choice. The fee is $99 for Comeback Classics and $149 for new movies. Among Comeback Classics are “Anchorman,” “Crazy Rich Asians,” “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” “Legally Blonde” and “Selma.”
The theaters will take greatly enhanced cleanliness, sanitizing and safety measures, according to a release.
“We’re evolving how we operate to make sure you feel confident and comfortable when you visit one of our theaters,” said Cinemark CEO Mark Zoradi in a video message to customers.
“Movie-going is a treasured global pastime,” he said. “We are eager for you to once again share in the awe and power of great cinematic story-telling on the big screen, something that truly cannot be replicated at home.”
Employees will undergo extensive training prior to reopening and wear face masks while working, in addition to completing a wellness check-in before every shift.
Each theater also will have a designated chief clean and safety monitor on duty to ensure safety, physical distancing, cleanliness and sanitization standards, to include:
• Each auditorium will be disinfected between show times using pressurized sprayers with products identified by the EPA to be effective in eliminating covid-19.
• Theaters will have staggered show times and limited capacities to maximize physical distancing.
• Seat-Buffering Technology will automatically block seats adjacent to a party upon ticket purchase.
• Face masks will be mandatory for all guests within the theater and may only be removed for eating and drinking in the auditoriums. Face masks and gloves will be required for all employees.
• Theaters will add refresh and replace cycles and use supply fans to increase total volume of fresh, outside air flowing in.
• All public and high-touch spaces will be thoroughly sanitized every 30 minutes.
• Ample supplies of seat wipes and hand sanitizer will be available to customers.
• Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets online and use contactless payment methods for a more contact-free experience. Cash payment options will be limited.
Tickets are on sale now for standard show times and Private Watch Parties at cinemark.com. The website also includes information on enhanced protocols, location-specific opening dates and hours and film schedules.
