Fox News apologizes for referring to ‘3 Mexican countries’

Don’t know much about geography?

On Sunday, “Fox & Friends” had a prominent error in an on-screen graphic about President Trump’s southern border policy announcement at the start of the program that got plenty of social media attention.

The show apologized after it displayed a graphic at the bottom of the screen that read “Trump cuts U.S. aid to 3 Mexican countries.”

“We want to clarify and correct something that happened earlier in the show,” Ed Henry, co-host of “Fox & Friends,” said. “We had an inaccurate graphic on screen while talking about this very story. We just want to be clear, the funding is being cut off to the three Central American countries. We apologize for the error.”

The Trump Administration intends to cut off hundreds of millions of dollars in assistance — including programs designed to curb gang violence — to the “Northern Triangle” countries of Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.

But the error was pounced on quickly by social media warriors.
