'Game of Thrones' series box set will be released in December
“Game of Thrones” super-fans will have plenty to be excited about during the upcoming Christmas season, with HBO’s announcement that the complete Blu-ray series will be available to purchase on Dec. 3.
Packaged in a wooden shadow-box case featuring multi-layered panel designs by artist Robert Ball, the series’ eights season will be collected on 33 discs featuring 88 individual commentaries and 15 hours of bonus content including the “Last Watch” documentary on the making of the final season, which HBO aired a week after the final episode.
The collection will also include a reunion special hosted by Conan O’Brien, as well as the “Histories & Lore” animated extras that have been included as bonus features with the individual season collections.

“Game of Thrones” is the most awarded series in TV history, earning 132 Emmy nominations and winning 47 to date.
And despite fan opinion being sharply divided on the final season, it averaged a record-setting 44 million viewers per episode, making it HBO’s most-watched program ever.
