WTAE named Ashley Liotus the station’s newest sports anchor/reporter.

Following Emily Giangreco’s departure in April, WTAE named Ashley Liotus the station’s newest sports anchor/reporter.

Liotus has freelanced for Channel 4 since 2022, prior to Giangreco’s arrival.

“We are thrilled to officially make Ashley part of our WTAE Channel 4 family,” WTAE general manager and president Charles W. Wolfertz III said in a statement. “A native Pittsburgher, she is the right fit for our station. Ashley is a team player, dedicated to our standard of excellence and understands the region’s passion for all local sports. She has been freelancing with us for two years and impressed both colleagues and viewers.”

Prior to her return to Pittsburgh, Liotus was a reporter for WJCL-TV, a Hearst Television station (like WTAE) in Savannah, Ga. Most recently Liotus produced pre- and post-game coverage of the Pirates and Penguins for SportsNet Pittsburgh.

Liotus holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Penn State University. She was born and raised in the South Hills and graduated from Baldwin High School.
