We’ve reached the weekend. Here are a few ways to spend it.

Pittsburgh CLO

Pittsburgh CLO’s “Wizard of Oz’” will be performed at 8:30 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Heinz Field on the North Side. The stage will be in the end zone. There will be 5,000 seats on the field and in the stands for the symphony, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary.

The show tells the story of a Kansas farm girl who travels over the rainbow to discover “there’s no place like home.”

Tickets are $35-$85.

Contemporary Craft

Contemporary Craft in Lawrenceville is hosting “The Faces Seen Hearts Unknown” gallery discussion at noon Saturday. Co-sponsored with The Conflict Lab, a conflict consulting company in Lawrenceville, it will showcase artwork by Seattle-based, Pakistan-born artist Humaira Abid. It is part of Contemporary Craft’s exhibition, “Searching for Home.”

The talk will look at issues central to Abid’s work, including identity, conflict and motherhood. The art was made through Abid’s interviews with refugee women resettled in the Pacific Northwest and Pakistan from nations including Somalia, Syria and Afghanistan.

Local artists Fran Flaherty and Amy Bowman McElhone will lead the discussion.

The event is free, but registration is required.

Garden tour

The Highland Park Secret Garden Tour is noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Visitors can see 10 gardens.

Some feature ponds and “she-sheds,” while others display outdoor living rooms and multilevel decks. There’s a compact urban vegetable garden and a pool.

It’s a self-guided tour, beginning at the Highland Park Entrance Gardens and Fountain.

The tour is sponsored by the Highland Park Garden Club and Highland Park Community Council.

Tickets are $20, $15 in advance.

Phipps Conservatory

Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Oakland’s summer show, “The Hidden Life of Trolls,” features forest, folklore and fairy tales.

The exhibit, open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, includes animatronic troll mascots Fen and Ivy who give tips on how to handle their kin. It’s the first time Phipps has done a troll show and used animatronics, machines controlled by computers to make puppets and models move in a natural way.

All trolls in the show were made by Phipps staff and local manufacturers. The show includes a 6-foot, six-eyed topiary troll made of grasses and dried plant materials. Tickets are $19.95 for adults, $17.95 for seniors and students and $11.95 for children. Timed tickets must be reserved in advance.

Pittsburgh Festival Opera

Pittsburgh Festival Opera presents “Voce al Fresco: Fresh Voices Under the Stars” outdoor concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Schenley Plaza Tent in Oakland. The performance will be from members of the Hans and Leslie Fleischner Young Artists Program. They will sing opera arias and ensembles. The artists are from all over the country.
