A pair of Rock and Roll Hall of Famers are headed to Pittsburgh next year for a stadium show.

Billy Joel and Rod Stewart will co-headline a concert July 5 at Acrisure Stadium.

Joel, 75, has a catalog of chart toppers to pull from, whether it’s “Big Shot,” “It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me,” “Uptown Girl,” “We Didn’t Start the Fire” or “Piano Man.”

Stewart has his parade of hits such as “Maggie May,” “Tonight’s the Night (Gonnan Be Alright),” “Infatuation” and “Downtown Train.”

With nameplates hidden behind Terrible Towels, custom Pittsburgh Steelers jerseys were revealed with their names and No. 25. (Sorry, DeShon Elliott, you’ve been replaced, at least momentarily.)

KDKA’s Bob Pompeani, Live Nation’s Tom Loudermilk and the Steelers’ Pat Freiermuth were on hand to help with the announcement, with the tight end sharing a story about his parents and Billy Joel music.

“My parents, when they were dating, went to a Billy Joel concert, and they got engaged shortly thereafter,” Freiermuth said. “So I actually grew up on Billy Joel music, Rod Stewart music, all the classics.”

Joel, with more than 160 million records sold worldwide, is no stranger to stadium shows in Pittsburgh, with appearances at PNC Park on Aug. 11, 2022, and July 1, 2016, as well as a 1994 show with Elton John at Three Rivers Stadium.

The most recent Pittsburgh show for Stewart, 79, was Aug. 26, 2023, at PPG Paints Arena.

Presales start at 10 a.m. Monday for Citi cardholders, with tickets going on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Dec. 13 at ticketmaster.com.

Joel and Stewart played together for the first time Sept. 13 in Cleveland. Joel has several other stadium concerts announced for 2025, some paired with Stevie Nicks and others with Sting.

This is the third 2025 stadium show announced for Pittsburgh: AC/DC will headline Acrisure Stadium on May 8, and Post Malone and Jelly Roll will play PNC Park on May 29.

In February, Joel released his first new song in 17 years with “Turn the Lights Back On.”
