The rhythm will be hitting hard and heavy Sunday, Aug. 4 at Elizabeth Forward’s Warrior Stadium, when Drum Corps International’s 2019 summer tour comes to the Pittsburgh region.

Part of a competition that includes more than 45 drum corps performing more than 100 shows in 37 states, DCI Pittsburgh will combine formations, choreography and music to entertain crowds as competitors vie for a spot at the World Championship Finals on Aug. 10 in Indianapolis.

The Aug. 4 show will feature these corps:

  • The Academy, Tempe, Ariz.
  • The Blue Devils, Concord, Calif.
  • Genesis, Austin, Texas
  • Madison Scouts, Madison, Wisc.
  • Music City, Nashville, Tenn.
  • Seattle Cascades, Seattle, Wash.
  • The Troopers, Casper, Wyo.
  • Spirit of Atlanta, Atlanta, Ga.

Each group features ensembles of brass, percussionists and dance performers ranging in age from 14 to 22.

Advance tickets are $25 to $35, and are available at DCI.org/events, or by calling 317-275-1212.

Warrior Stadium is at 1000 Weigles Hill Road in Elizabeth Township.
