Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden performs in Cincinnati on Aug. 15, 2019.

A classic metal band, a genre-bending country singer and a newly inducted member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are coming to Pittsburgh. Here’s a look at some of the top shows coming to the region in November:

Top concerts

Nov. 8: Iron Maiden, The Hu at PPG Paints Arena

Iconic metal band Iron Maiden will return to Pittsburgh for their first show here in five years on their Future Past tour.

Iron Maiden, which will mark its 50th anniversary next year, recently lost early lead singer Paul Di’Anno, who died on Oct. 21.

“Paul was instrumental in the first two albums,” said singer Bruce Dickson, who replaced Di’Anno, according to the New York Post. “… An amazing voice, devoted to rock ’n’ roll right up till the last minute of his life.”

Nov. 10: Kacey Musgraves, Lord Huron, Nickel Creek at PPG Paints Arena

Country singer Kacey Musgraves brings her Deeper Well tour — named for her album that released in March — to Pittsburgh, her first show in the city since 2016.

Musgraves, who won a Grammy for Album of the Year in 2019 for “Golden Hour,” continues to blur the lines of what counts as country music.

“Some of the best creatives create their own genre,” Musgraves told bittersoutherner.com. “They don’t exist just fully in one.”

Nov. 15: Dave Matthews Band at PPG Paints Arena

Fresh on the heels of their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in October, the Dave Matthews Band will play a rare arena show in Pittsburgh. Of their 35 shows in the area, only two have been indoors, and those were back in 1994 and 1995.

Actress Julia Roberts, who appeared in the band’s 2005 video for “Dreamgirl,” welcomed them into the Hall of Fame.

“The musical talent, the originality, the sheer quantity of genres they perform, it’s mind-blowing,” Roberts said, according to Rolling Stone. “And I’ve been lucky enough to attend many a Dave Matthews Band concert, and I don’t think I’ve ever heard any of their songs played the same way twice.”
