Heavy metal veterans Pantera will open their U.S. summer tour with a date in the Pittsburgh area.
Touted as “the heaviest tour of the summer,” Pantera will be joined by Swedish metal stalwarts Amon Amarth for a July 15 show at the Pavilion at Star Lake, with another opener still to be announced.
Pantera continues to celebrate the lives of its two late founding members: guitarist Dimebag Darrell and drummer Vinnie Paul. The band’s current lineup includes longtime members Phil Anselmo (vocals) and Rex Brown (bass), joined by drummer Charlie Benante and guitarist Zakk Wylde.
Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday at livenation.com, with a Citi cardmember presale starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, a Pantera fan club presale at noon Tuesday, an Amon Amarth fan club presale at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Live Nation and Ticketmaster presales at 10 a.m. Wednesday, and Spotify, Knotfest and Blabbermouth presales at 10 a.m. Thursday.
