Radio 45, which has been compared to classic power pop bands like Cheap Trick and The Raspberries but with a modern twist, are using their newest single, “Good Dawg,” to help raise awareness for Animal Friends.

“‘Good Dawg’ is about the everyday good-hearted person fighting to stay positive when life has its way with you,” guitarist Aaron Greer said. “It’s my story, but it’s also everyone’s story. It’s about overcoming the struggles we face and not letting them define us.”

The band, which also has three separate tribute bands honoring U2, Tom Petty and Cheap Trick, will be launching its first beer in partnership with Punxsutawney Brewing: “Feels Like Summer,” named after one of the band’s singles. They’re also scheduled to release their first full-length album, “Art is War,” in late spring.
