In this episode of the “Pittsburgh Pop” podcast, host Tim Benz and TV Talk columnist Rob Owen discuss Pittsburgh pop culture news of the moment including tonight’s season finale of Food Network’s “Summer Baking Championship” (9 p.m.) featuring Mt. Washington’s Zoe Peckich as one of three finalists. On last week’s “Barbie” movie-themed episode, Peckich impressed the judges with a pistachio cake decorated to resemble a Barbie accessory toy cake.

“It really looks like a toy,” said judge Duff Goldman. All the judges praised the cake’s moistness and flavor.

In tonight’s finale Peckich will have to create a Fourth of July parade float cake.

“May the spiciest person win!” Peckich says in the trailer for tonight’s episode.

Tonight’s season premiere of ABC’s “The Bachelorette” (9 p.m., WTAE-TV) also features a Pittsburgher, Tanner Courtad.

“Since I’m from Pittsburgh, we wave our Terrible Towel,” Courtad says in tonight’s episode when he first meets Bachelorette Charity Lawson.

“Oh, I like that,” Lawson replies.

“So I brought you something: It’s a Tanner towel,” he says, revealing a white towel with the letter T embossed on it. (Woof!)

The pair also talk about the prospect of Matthew McConaughey joining the “Yellowstone” universe and Owen reviews “The Bear” and “I’m a Virgo.”
