Let down your hair with Apple Hill Playhouse's 'Rapunzel'
Apple Hill Playhouse will stage “Let Your Hair Down, Rapunzel” at 11 a.m. July 9, 11-13, 16-17 and 19 as part of the Delmont theater’s Johnny Appleseed Children’s Theatre.
The musical adaptation of the classic fairytale revisits Rapunzel on her 18th birthday, when the villain, Witch Izwitch, follows through with her promise to lock the young girl in a tower. An exuberant and funny rescue attempt takes place with a happy ending to follow.
The cast features Pay Beyer of Murrysville as the Witch, Ambur Orowitz of New Kensington as Rapunzel and 20 other local actors. Katya Shaffer of Jeannette is director, Jessica Sammarone is musical director and Maddie Simkovic of Irwin is stage manager.
