Tickets are on sale now for the September run of Disney’s “The Lion King” at the Benedum Center in Pittsburgh.
Tickets are available at 412-456-6666, trustarts.org and at the Box Office at Theater Square in downtown Pittsburgh. VIP ticket packages, including prime seat location, commemorative souvenir program and exclusive merchandise item, also are available.
The musical’s four-week run is scheduled for Sept. 4-29.
A sensory-friendly performance is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sept. 14 at 2:00 p.m. at the Benedum Center. Tickets for that performance are available at 412-456-2670 or trustarts.org/sensoryfriendly.
The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust reminds ticket buyers that the listed outlets listed are the only official retail ticket outlets for all performances. The trust is unable to reprint or replace lost or stolen tickets that are purchased via other outlets and is unable to contact those ticket-holders with information regarding performance time changes or other updates.
North American touring productions of “The Lion King” have been seen by more than 20 million theater-goers in more than 80 cities across North America, the trust says.
Since the Nov. 13, 1997, premiere, 25 global productions have been seen by more than 95 million people. Produced by Disney Theatrical Productions, “The Lion King” has had six productions worldwide running 15 or more years, performed in eight different languages.
Among many honors, the musical won six 1998 Tony Awards and the 1999 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album.
