Westmoreland County native Patricia Mastandrea has been named CEO of MedCare Equipment Co. LLC, a home medical equipment company, after serving in an acting capacity since April, Excela Health announced.

Mastandrea previously was chief operating officer of MedCare for 15 years.

She has 30 years of health care experience, beginning her career in procurement with UPMC. She came to Westmoreland Hospital as purchasing manager 25 years ago, and soon moved to MedCare as director of operations.

During her time as COO, Mastandrea oversaw a period of growth in which MedCare established joint ventures with eight health systems across Western Pennsylvania.

A graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College, the married mother of three adult children is a lifelong resident of the county.
