“Food Truck A Palooza” is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 13 at the Monroeville Convention Center.

The Monroeville Convention Center will be filled with good eats once again – inside and outside this year.

“Food Truck A Palooza,” a food truck festival, is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Monroeville Convention Center.

Food Truck A Palooza is presented by GoodTaste! Pittsburgh, a producer of culinary shows. GoodTaste! Pittsburgh collaborates with national celebrity chefs, the best of the ‘Burgh chefs, and new food trends.

The event will showcase 24 Western Pennsylvania mobile restaurants and celebrate global fare from around the world, according to show producer Dee Weinberg of GoodTaste! Pittsburgh.

“Food trucks are more popular now than ever,” said Weinberg. “’Food Truck A Palooza’ allows foodies to get a delicious taste of a variety of Pittsburgh’s favorites before they dock the trucks for the winter.”

The event is sponsored by Steel City Media and Monroeville Kia. There are vegan options and Asian food as well as dessert choices and waffles made from pizza dough.

Some of the trucks include PGH Halal, Speal’s on Wheels, Pittsburgh Crepes, Revival Chili, Waffles Pizza, Burgh Bites, Millie’s Homemade and Bado’s Pizza. There will be a few trucks parked outside that will be part of a tailgate party.

“Come for the food and stay for the fun inside and outside,” said Weinberg. “We have some fun surprises planned.”

Weinberg said she doesn’t know of any other indoor food truck festivals in the country. The logistics of an event like this are challenging, but she works with the Monroeville Fire Company No. 6, which monitors the air levels all day.

Trucks are not permitted to have propane tanks indoors.

There will be games, live music, roving entertainment, including a roving magician and balloon twister, as well as a holiday marketplace with more than 36 vendors, including Char Le’ May Mobile fashion boutique.

New this year is an inflatable snow globe filled will include holiday décor. There is a suggested donation to take a photo which will be donated to the Monroeville Fire Department No. 6.

“This snow globe is wonderful,” Weinberg said. “It allows people to step inside a winter wonderland for a picture. They can have their holiday card image ready to go.”

Tickets are $15, $10 in advance and available online at goodtastepittsburgh.com. Children 10 and under are free. Admission does not include food truck purchases.
