McDonald’s teased its customers in Australia with a new offering: the McPickle Burger.

However, it turned out to be just an April Fools’ Day joke — much to the chagrin of customers.

The fast-food chain posted the gag on its Facebook and Instagram accounts, saying, “Pickle lovers, it’s the news you’ve all been waiting for. We’re super stoked to announce the launch of our brand new McPickle Burger. It’s time to tuck into juicy, flavoursome pickles layered between melted cheese, ketchup sauce and toasted sesame seed buns. It’s sure to be a treat for all your senses.”

McDonald’s quickly revealed their true intentions, writing on Facebook: “Available until yesterday.”

But fans were actually upset when they figured out they’d been had.

“I want this now,” jujuox replied on Instagram.

“Why does this have to be an april fools prank,” wrote georgiashattock_

bumblebeecake said, “Heartbroken to find out this is fake.”

On Facebook, Sammi Mckinnon responded, “I understand this is an April fools joke but I would eat this 100%.” And dozens of people agreed with her, and McDonald’s properly replying, “Dilly dilly!”

Ambar Siggins asked, “Is it possible to get extra pickles on this burger?”

“If this was actually a thing, id probs buy it, pickles are life,” wrote Cameron Vanzanten.

Too bad, folks. If you really want one of these, it looks like the best you can do is just ask for extra pickles on your burger — and pick off the burger.
