A restaurant in Shadyside that specializes in Thai street food has 10 days to remedy repeated violations an Allegheny County Health Department restaurant inspector found this week or it will be ordered closed.

Noodlehead, 242 S. Highland Ave., remained open Wednesday, but it was ordered to keep a consumer alert placard visible to customers. A manager didn’t immediately return a message seeking comment.

The restaurant was inspected Monday after multiple households reported getting sick after eating there between Sept. 4 and 6, according to the health department.

Several repeat violations involving keeping prepared food at improper temperatures, storing utensils in dirty, stagnant water and other unsanitary conditions were found during the inspection.

Similar violations were also found in August and at other previous inspections, according to the health department.

In February, managers at the restaurant met with the department and agreed that three employees would register to take a certified food protection management course and that other employees would be trained to use proper personal hygeine and proper food handling practices.
