Garden center luncheon program includes talk by Doug Oster
Everybody Gardens editor Doug Oster will discuss “The Magic of Fall Planted Bulbs” during an Oct. 1 luncheon at the Greensburg Country Club.
Lunch followed by Oster’s talk will begin at noon, as part of Greensburg Garden Center’s annual meeting.
“We are very happy to have Doug joining us for this talk,” says garden center President Carla Rusnica. “He always has such wonderful gardening information to share.”
Oster shares his gardening passion and expertise online at Everybody Gardens, in a Friday column in the Tribune-Review and in personal appearances. He earned an Outstanding Documentary Emmy for “Gardens of America,” a one-hour special he conceived for Pittsburgh PBS affiliate WQED.
“Gardening is fun,” Oster says. “Enjoy every day spent tending vegetables, flowers, shrubs and trees.”
Copies of Oster’s book, “Steel City Gardens,” will be available to purchase and have signed following the Oct. 1 program at the country club, 309 Pleasant Valley Road, Hempfield..
Attendees also will be able to purchase tickets for the garden center’s fall raffle. Special prize is a one-hour personal garden consultation by Oster paired with a copy of his book.
Lunch and presentation is $30.
