Prom is an occasion for high schoolers to make memories that last a lifetime.
On March 6, the Westmoreland County Blind Association provided an opportunity for reliving those memories and making some new ones with its A Night to Remember … Adult Prom.
Held at Rizzo’s Banquet Hall in Crabtree, the festive night of dinner and dancing drew a crowd of about 200.
Prom 2.0 had a couple of features that teens don’t get — namely, a cigar bar and a raffle for a trip to Cozumel, Mexico. But other than that, it was the same festive flurry and a chance to promenade in beautiful gowns and crisp tuxedos.
In his welcoming remarks, Executive Director Tim Miller lauded the steady growth of WCBA programs and services, which has necessitated a planned $850,000 expansion program.
The event was organized by Miller, executive assistant Amy Patz, fundraising chair Adele Shuster and committee members Tony Bompiani, Janice Mahla, April Kopas and Mark Tintori, along with WCBA volunteers.
