“In the spring,” said Alfred, Lord Tennyson, “a young man’s fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love.”

A woman’s fancy? Well, let’s say it’s just as likely to turn to thoughts of new clothes.

A look at what’s new in warm weather togs came courtesy of the Jeannette Business Association’s Ladies Day, on April 27 at Ferrante’s Lakeview in Hempfield.

Jennifer Miele emceed a fashion show featuring models clad in the latest from Christopher & Banks, Dress Barn and Macy’s. For the June bride, there were gowns from Kimberly James Bridal Boutique.

The event attended by 200 plus also included lunch, music by DJ Danny Cooper, raffles, a spring hat contest and vendor sales of clothing, accessories, pampering products, crafts and more. A portion of the day’s proceeds went to the Blackburn Center.

Event committee included chairwoman Laura Smith, Donna McCullough, Missy Miller, Carole Babish, Margie Stanislaw, Ethel Hamilton and Rae Ann Matiasic.
