7 displaced after house fire in Hazelwood

Members of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire responded to a house fire in Hazelwood Thursday afternoon. No injuries were reported, but a cat rescued from the home received oxygen.

Seven people were displaced after a fire broke out in a Hazelwood home Thursday afternoon.

Crews with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire responded to row houses on the 200 block of Glenwood Avenune around 1:40 p.m. where they were able to quickly extinguish a two-alarm fire, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety Spokeswoman Cara Cruz.

Firefighters rescued a cat and a dog during the incident. EMS administered oxygen to the cat before returning it to its owner, Cruz said.

No other injuries were reported.

Two adults and two children from one home and two adults and one child from another home who were displaced are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.

Crews are investigating the cause of the fire.
