Allegheny County reports 131 new coronavirus cases

Allegheny County on Saturday recorded 131 new coronavirus cases.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the total at 421.

The county now has accumulated 14,818 cases of covid-19, according to data from the Allegheny County Health Department.

Of the new cases, 94 are confirmed, while 37 are listed as probable.

The recent batch of samples comprising 1,151 tests were collected from Sunday through Friday.

They yielded a positivity rate of about 11.4%.

Nine new hospitalizations were reported. Officials say 1,388 people have been hospitalized since the virus was first reported in Allegheny County on March 14.

Saturday’s cases range in age from 10 to 97 years, with a median of 33 years old.

Twenty-four days into the month, the county has seen 2,470 new cases of the virus.

Allegheny County has posted triple-digit case numbers 11 times this month; in September, it happened only three times.
