Allegheny County on Saturday recorded 370 new coronavirus cases, an eight-case reduction from the day before, but still the third-highest single-day amount for the county.
Officials reported a single-day high of 412 cases on Wednesday.
No new deaths were reported, leaving the county’s toll at 458.
There were 11 deaths reported throughout the week.
The county has had 19,499 cases of covid-19, according to data from the Allegheny County Health Department.
Of the new cases, 266 are confirmed, while 104 are listed as probable.
The recent batch of samples comprising 1,318 tests were collected from Oct. 28 through Friday. Only six of those tests were more than a week old, officials said.
The tests yielded a positivity rate of about 20%.
Fourteen new hospitalizations were reported. Officials say 1,643 people have been hospitalized since the virus was first reported in Allegheny County on March 14.
Saturday’s cases range in age from 1 to 98 years, with a median of 43 years old.
Through the first two weeks of November, the county has amassed 3,703 new cases and is on pace to log 7,935 cases for the month.
To put November’s spike into perspective; in the entirety of October, the county had seen 3,448 new cases of the virus, which was an increase of 72.3% from September (2,001).
Allegheny County has posted triple-digit case numbers every day this month. It happened 19 times in October, and, in September, it happened only three times.
The last five days have seen at least 317 new cases, and the seven-day average is at a record high 339 cases.
