Allegheny County reports 81 coronavirus cases

Allegheny County on Saturday recorded 81 new coronavirus cases.

The county now has a total of 13,183 cases of covid-19, according to data from the Allegheny County Health Department.

Seventy-seven of the new cases are confirmed, while 4 are listed as probable.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the total at 397.

The county also reported no new hospitalizations. Officials say 1,281 people have been hospitalized since the virus was first reported in Allegheny County on March 14.

The recent batch of samples comprising 1,651 tests were collected between Oct. 3 to Oct. 9. They yielded a positivity rate of about 5%.

Saturday’s cases range in age from 7 to 101, with a median of 46 years old.

To date, the county has seen 550 new cases of the virus.

Allegheny County posted triple-digit case numbers on twice this month; Oct. 1 and Oct. 8, when it reported 106 and 127 cases, respectively.
