Allegheny County reports month-high new covid-19 cases, surpasses 12,000 total cases

Allegheny County saw a month-high amount of new covid-19 cases Saturday, according to the county Health Department.

There were 106 new cases reported, bringing the county’s case total to 12,101. The new cases are the highest amount of cases reported since Aug. 13 when 114 cases were reported.

No new coronavirus-related deaths and seven new hospitalizations were reported, as well. The death total remains at 380 and total hospitalizations grow to 1,199.

In Allegheny County, there are currently 48 covid-19 patients hospitalized, with eight on ventilators.

As of Saturday, the county estimates 8,722 cases have recovered from covid-19.

The county’s new covid-18 cases, of which five are probable, come from 1,426 tests. The tests were conducted from Sept.17-Sept. 25. Of the new cases, 64 are male and 42 are female. Ages of new cases range from 5 to 94, with a median age of 31.

0-4 – 0

5-12 – 4

13-18 – 10

19-24 – 28

25-49 – 30

50-64 – 16

65+ – 18
