Allegheny County sees new covid-19 case counts trend continue

Allegheny County reported 103 new covid-19 cases Tuesday, according to the county Health Department.

One new coronavirus-related death was also reported Tuesday, an individual in their 90s who died Sunday.

The county now has 14,277 cases and 406 deaths.

New covid-19 cases have hovered around 100 for the past seven days with a seven-day average of 120 cases. In that span, the lowest amount of cases reported was 97 on Oct. 14, and the most reported cases coming Friday when 149 cases were reported.

Currently, there are 113 covid-19 patients hospitalized in Allegheny County, with 13 of them on ventilators.

There are 65 confirmed cases of the 103 reported Tuesday, and they come from 756 PCR tests. There are 38 probable cases, with 24 positive antigen tests. The daily positivity rate for Tuesday is 13.62%, a high for the month.

Dates of positive tests ranged from Oct. 1-Oct. 19. The health department stated one case was from Oct. 1 and one from Oct. 5, with the rest coming from within the last week. Ages of new cases range from 10 months to 88 years old, with a median age of 32 years old.

0-4 – 1

5-12 – 3

13-18 – 16

19-24 – 19

25-49 – 39

50-64 – 16

65+ – 9
