Aquinas Academy Middle School students take a trip to ‘Narnia’

Aquinas Academy of Pittsburgh’s middle school students performed three Narnia plays from the works of C.S. Lewis for their spring production. The shows marked the 33rd presentations at the school by Director Mike Flynn.

Aquinas Academy of Pittsburgh’s middle school students took audiences on a mythical voyage to Narnia during three separate productions from the works of C.S. Lewis.

Eighth-grade students performed “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe;” seventh graders performed “Prince Caspian;” and the sixth grade put on “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.”

Unlike years past, when there was one large middle school play, director Mike Flynn chose to perform one play per grade to promote social distancing guidelines. The shows marked Flynn’s 33rd productions for the school along West Hardies Road.

The scripts were adapted from the Narnia books by Aquinas’ lower school teacher, Sue Mutschler.

Senior Benjamin Stalder was the music director for all three plays. Maria Taglianetti and Brady Buchanan painted the scenery and designed the sets, respectively. Rosemary Meland provided costume design.
