The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled the Jan. 27 death of a woman in Pittsburgh’s Bedford Dwellings as a homicide.

Markeyta Daniels, 24, of the North Side, was found unresponsive in a residence in the 2200 block of Somers Drive around 1 a.m. and later pronounced dead, the medical examiner’s office said.

The office said it determined that Daniels died of a pulmonary embolism and it ruled the manner of death to be homicide. The office did not provide further information about its homicide ruling or Daniels’ death, referring questions to Pittsburgh police.

Police did not return a message.
