Best of Blawnox Holiday Cookie Tour set for Saturday

A holiday celebration in Blawnox is back for its second year in the borough.
The Best of Blawnox Holiday Cookie Tour and Blawnox Night of Lights are planned for Saturday.
The tour takes place from 1-4 p.m. and Night of Lights festivities pick up from there until 6:30 p.m.
Participants start at the Veteran’s Monument at the intersection of Freeport Road and North Avenue, then stroll along the business district to sample cookies and do some holiday shopping.
“We have 20 businesses participating that reach from one end of our business district to the other end along Freeport Road,” said Kathy Ulanowicz, borough manager and Best of Blawnox member. “We are excited about how many businesses that participated last year are returning for this year’s event.”
Participating businesses include Jersey Mike’s, Drayer Physical Therapy, Clean Eatz, Tower Auto Sales, Overbeck’s Nursery and Landscaping, Nox’s Tavern & Grille, Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, Molly’s Singer Design, Christine’s Hair Studio, The Blue Rose, The Clubhouse, Maenam Thai and Old Thunder Brewery.
“I really enjoyed meeting all of our business owners in Blawnox,” said cookie tour coordinator Janine Adams. “Everyone was excited to participate. The Cookie Tour is going to be a fun holiday event that will bring people into Blawnox and help promote the local businesses.”
Best of Blawnox is a nonprofit group dedicated to promoting the borough and supporting its residents and businesses.

It will also be available at the Best of Blawnox tent Saturday.
The celebration continues into the evening with the borough’s Night of Lights by the monument and at Hoboken Presbyterian Church, 921 North Ave.
There will be children’s activities, caroling and more. Santa plans to stop by at 5:30 p.m. to help light the Christmas Tree.
Hundreds of people are expected to take part in the celebration.
