Pittsburgh police at the scene of a fatal crash Thursday that killed a pedestrian in Pittsburgh’s Uptown neighborhood.

A man was killed Thursday morning after he stumbled into a road in Pittsburgh’s Uptown neighborhood and was struck by a box truck, according to city police.

Pittsburgh police were dispatched at 10:30 a.m. to Forbes Avenue and Pride Street, close to UPMC Mercy hospital, where they found the man already dead, Emily Bourne, a police spokesperson, said.

The man was identified late Thursday as Jeremy Danielle Leval, 48. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office did not list a hometown for Leval.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene, Bourne said. He is cooperating with police.

The victim was walking on Pride Street when he stumbled into the road and was hit, Bourne said, citing witness testimony and camera footage.

Police are investigating.
