Part of Stanton Avenue in Reserve Township will close for bridge replacement until July.

Beginning at 9 a.m. on April 19, the avenue will close between Johnston Street and Karen Drive, according to the Department of Public Works.

Pugliano Construction will replace Girty’s Run Bridge, which requires new drainage, pavement, guide rail and pavement markings, according to a news release.

In 2017, the Millvale bridge was reported to be in poor condition, according to Bridge Hunter. It was built in 1915.

Traffic will be redirected to Howard Street, Grant Avenue, East Ohio Street, Evergreen Road, Babcock Boulevard, Peoples Road, Ivory Avenue, Mt. Troy Road and Hoffman Road.

The bridge replacement is part of the $1.7 million 2021 capital bridges contract.
