Carlynton, Chartiers Valley school board, Scott council primary race results

Unofficial results for the primary election are in.

Many races were uncontested — South Fayette School District school board, Bridgeville council, Carnegie council, Heidelberg council and South Fayette commissioners.

Incumbent mayors Stacie Riley, Carnegie; Betty Copeland, Bridgeville; and Kenneth Lasota, Heidelberg, also ran uncontested.

Carlynton School District

Five candidates, all cross-filed, ran for four spots on the November ballot for school board. All five made it onto the ballot for the general election.

Democratic nominees incumbent LeeAnne O’Brien received 998 votes, Jessica Vogliano received 952, incumbent Susie Puskar received 934 and incumbent Christine Simcic received 922.

The slate of candidates for the Republican ballot is Vogliano with 406 votes, O’Brien with 352, incumbent Joseph C. Appel with 308 and Simcic with 307.

Chartiers Valley School District

Eight candidates ran for four spots on the November ballot for school board director.

All candidates were cross-filed on both tickets, with the exception Raja Hamid Nawaz Khan, who was only on the Democrat ticket according to the Allegheny County Office of Elections unofficial candidate list.

Democratic nominees for the November election are Lisa Trainor with 2,372 votes, Megan Sexton with 1,573, Mitchell S. Montani Jr. with 1,530 and Herb Ohliger with 1,444.

Ohliger, Montani and Trainor will also appear on the Republican ticket with 1,344, 1,050 and 993 votes, respectively. Julie Steele joins them with 1,050 votes.

Scott Township

In Scott, there was only one contested race – the Democratic Ward 7 council ballot spot. Incumbent Nicholas Seibel beat Curt Friehs, 230 to 48.
