Church of Atonement hosting book, jewelry sale Feb. 14, 15

The Church of the Atonement at 618 Washington Ave., Carnegie, will hold a used books and jewelry sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 14 and 15. On Saturday, the sale will close from noon to 1 p.m. so volunteers can eat lunch. The bag sale is from 1 to 2 p.m. A snow date is planned for Feb. 16 from 1 to 3 p.m. in case of very bad weather. Other items for sale include lamps, wall hangings, new afghans, portable sewing machine, video tapes, DVDs, records and more. To donate items for the sale, call Joyce at 412-276-0366.

Narcan workshop

The Carnegie, Green Tree, and Scott Substance Addiction Ministry will host a Narcan Workshop from 7 to 8 p.m. Feb. 19 at St. Margaret of Scotland Church in the grade school cafeteria. Light refreshments will be provided, and participants will learn: hands on training, where to obtain and how to use Narcan, how to spot an overdose and what to do before the ambulance arrives. Youth sports signups

Sign-ups for Carnegie Youth Athletic Association, baseball, softball, and T-ball are open through Feb. 15. To sign up, go to www.playcarnegie.com/.

Comedy night

At 8 p.m. Feb. 15, Comedy Night will be held at the 3rd Street Gallery, 220 Third St. Carnegie. The evening will feature Krish Mohan (Pittsburgh Fringe winner) for an evening of socially conscious stand-up comedy. The cost is $20 per person and the event is BYOB and snacks.

Pancake breakfast

From 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 16, there will be a pancake breakfast at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, sponsored by the Knights of Columbus in St. Luke’s Hall, 330 Third Ave. Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, eggs, juice, coffee or tea. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children under 10.

Living Wax Museum

From 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 19, Carnegie Elementary’s first ever Living Wax Museum will be on display. Created by the fourth-grade class, the community is invited to come and see the stars. Guests are asked to enter at the main entrance, located on the first floor hallway.
