Collier fitness challenge: 100k by end of May

Collier Township has challenged residents to reach 100k. The contest is open to all ages and abilities and participants don’t have to reside in the township.

Participants can walk, run, bike, lift weights or do any workout on their own time at their own pace. Fifteen minutes of exercise equals one mile. Miles and minutes can be entered every day before midnight at bit.ly/collierchallenge.

The goal is to complete 62 miles by May 31. Everyone who helps complete 100k by that date will receive a Collier 100k Finisher tshirt and entered to win more prizes, including family membership to Collier Community Center and Amazon gift cards. The prize drawing will take place June 1.

Participants will be able to join the challenge Facebook group for extra motivation and weekly challenges to win more prizes.

The cost is $15 pee person and $12 for each additional person in the same household. Those who want to participate but who are experiencing a financial hardship can email rbarry@colliertwp.net.
