Carnegie Farmers Market

The Carnegie Farmers Market will take place every Sunday on East Main Street between Broadway and Mary from noon-3 p.m. through Sept. 26 with more than 40 vendors. Shoppers will have the ability to use SNAP and WIC benefits to purchase produce. The virtual market is open year-round at www.carnegieborough.com/vmarket.

Meal distributions

In Carnegie, meal distribution is Monday through Friday throughout the summer. Free grab-and-go breakfast and lunch is offered at the following three locations:

The Carnegie Boys and Girls Club, 630 Washington Ave., from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

In front of the Carnegie Municipal Building, 1 Veterans Way, from 11 a.m. to noon.

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 601 Washington Ave., from 4 to 5 p.m.

In Crafton, breakfast and lunch is provided Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to noon at the entrance to Crafton Elementary School, 1874 Crafton Blvd.

All sites are open to any family with children 18 and under, no matter what school they attend or where they live. Weekend food bags are available every Friday at all locations.

Drag Queen Bingo

Drag Queen Bingo is back. The events will take place in the Chartiers Room at Bridgeville VFD Station 117 on Commercial Street at noon on July 25 and Sept. 19. Tickets are $35 and include a master bingo sheet, lunch and refreshments. The events benefit Bridgeville and Presto VFDs. For more information, call 412-221-1711 or 412-221-5677.

Glass recycling

Pennsylvania Resource Council’s traveling glass recycling bin will be at the Collier Township Municipal Building in Presto from 7 a.m.-sundown on July 24. Empty glass bottles, jars and jugs are the only items that will be accepted. For more information, visit www.prc.org/glassrecycling.

South Fayette public survey

South Fayette Township is updating its comprehensive plan. Through July 24, take a survey to let the township know your thoughts about development, community facilities, parks, housing, transportation, businesses, historical resources, land use and more.

The comprehensive plan identifies the goals and strategies for growth and conservation in the community. Pennsylvania’s laws guide the basic content for comprehensive plans so that growth is encouraged in a coordinated manner.
