Carnegie Farmers Market
The Carnegie Farmers Market will take place every Sunday on East Main Street between Broadway and Mary from noon-3 p.m. through Sept. 26 with more than 40 vendors. Shoppers will have the ability to use SNAP and WIC benefits to purchase produce. The virtual market is open year-round at www.carnegieborough.com/vmarket.
Outdoor Flea Market
The Church of the Atonement, 618 Washington Ave., Carnegie has scheduled an outdoor flea market for July 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Vendors are needed for Flea Market on the Lawn, who will rent space for $10, but must bring their own table or blanket and chair. Church members will also set up for the flea market. Items for sale include toys, golf bag/clubs, kitchen items, linens, yarn, lamps, puzzles and more.
To reserve space or for more information, call Joyce at 412-276-0366. Unvaccinated individuals must wear masks. Another Vendor Sale is scheduled for Aug. 14.
Meal distributions
In Carnegie, meal distribution is Monday through Friday throughout the summer. Free grab-and-go breakfast and lunch is offered at the following three locations:
The Carnegie Boys and Girls Club, 630 Washington Ave., from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
In front of the Carnegie Municipal Building, 1 Veterans Way, from 11 a.m. to noon.
St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 601 Washington Ave., from 4 to 5 p.m.
In Crafton, breakfast and lunch is provided Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to noon at the entrance to Crafton Elementary School, 1874 Crafton Blvd.
All sites are open to any family with children 18 and under, no matter what school they attend or where they live. Weekend food bags are available every Friday at all locations.
Summer Festival
Saint Raphael the Archangel Summer Festival will take place 6 to 10 p.m. July 15-17 at Sts. Simon and Jude Church on Greentree Road. Food and fun for the entire family. For more information, visit stmargparish.org.
Vacation Bible School
Rennerdale Church Vacation Bible School will be 9 a.m.-noon July 19-23. Visit rennerdalepresbyterian.org to pre-register and get more information.
South Fayette public survey
South Fayette Township is updating its comprehensive plan. Through July 24, take a survey to let the township know your thoughts about development, community facilities, parks, housing, transportation, businesses, historical resources, land use and more.
The comprehensive plan identifies the goals and strategies for growth and conservation in the community. Pennsylvania’s laws guide the basic content for comprehensive plans so that growth is encouraged in a coordinated manner.
