Carnegie Butterfly Festival
In March, Carnegie Mayor Stacie Riley signed the National Wildlife Federation’s “Mayor’s Monarch Pledge” and the borough’s monarch conservation page was created to educate the community.
Festival activities will include making butterfly masks and artwork, educational materials, chalk drawing, butterfly hopscotch, and more during the Carnegie Farmers Market on July 11. Nearby milkweed and butterfly gardens planted by the Shade Tree Commission will draw monarchs to the area.
