Concert in the Park
South Fayette’s next Concert in the Park event is scheduled for 5-9 p.m., Aug. 20 in Fairview Park at 129 Greenwood Drive. Rob Eldridge and the Warm Auction are slated to play from 5-6:30 p.m. and Shades of Time are scheduled for 7-9 p.m. Concerts are presented by Dollar Bank. Admission is free. Rock the Quarry
Since the Panhandle Trail opened in 2000, Rock the Quarry has been an annual tradition featuring two days of music, food and fun to help raise funds for upkeep, maintenance and community events for trail users hosted by the Collier Friends of the Panhandle Trail.

Seniors for Safe Driving course
The South Fayette Senior Center and South Fayette Parks & Recreation present Seniors for Safe Driving, a PennDOT-approved driver improvement course for adults age 55 and older.
The course will be held 5-9 p.m. Sept. 7 at the South Fayette Township Municipal Building back entrance, 515 Millers Run Road. Cost is $16 per driver. Benefits include car insurance discounts. The course includes classroom instruction only; no exam or on-the-road driving are required.

Blood drive
Collier and the American Red Cross are hosting a blood drive 2-7 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Collier Community Center on Lobaugh Street. To make an appointment, visit redcrossblood.org.
FBI National Academy Western PA 5K Fundraiser
The FBI National Academy, Western Pennsylvania Chapter, and South Fayette Township are hosting the Evelsizer Family 5K Sept. 26 at Fairview Park. The course will include roads and grass. Race check-in will take place 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Fairview Rotary pavilion. The race will begin at 10 a.m. 1:00 PM: Live music, raffles and food trucks will start at 10:30 a.m. and run until 1 p.m.
The race honors Mark Evelsizer, a lifelong, active member of the FBI National Academy, and his wife, Marty, who recently died after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Proceeds from this race will benefit the FBI National Academy, Western PA Chapter, for training, scholarships and other future events.
Registration is $25. Race registration runs through Sept. 10. Preregistration is required and no day-of-event registration will be accepted. Participation is limited to 250 racers. Register online at southfayettepa.com or call 412-221-2170 for more information.
Carnegie Farmers Market
The Carnegie Farmers Market will take place every Sunday on East Main Street between Broadway and Mary from noon to 3 p.m. through Sept. 26, with more than 40 vendors.
Shoppers will have the ability to use SNAP and WIC benefits to purchase produce. The virtual market is open year-round at www.carnegieborough.com/vmarket.
Meal distributions
In Carnegie, meal distribution is Monday through Friday throughout the summer. Free grab-and-go breakfast and lunch is offered at the following three locations:
l The Carnegie Boys and Girls Club, 630 Washington Ave., from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
l In front of the Carnegie Municipal Building, 1 Veterans Way, from 11 a.m. to noon.
l St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 601 Washington Ave., from 4 to 5 p.m.
l In Crafton, breakfast and lunch is provided Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to noon at the entrance to Crafton Elementary School, 1874 Crafton Blvd.
All sites are open to any family with children 18 and under, no matter what school they attend or where they live. Weekend food bags are available every Friday at all locations.
