Julie Murphy, Mary Ann Cupples-Wisniowski and Tim Downey Jr. were elected to three seats on Collier’s board of commissioners.
They were the top three vote-getters in a six-candidate race Tuesday, Nov. 4, according to unofficial but complete results from the Allegheny County Elections Division.
Murphy had 1,828 votes, and Cupples-Wisniowski and Downey had 1,818 each.
“I’m honored to be elected by the people of Collier — the township I’ve called home for the past 26 years,” Murphy said. “To every resident who placed their trust in me, thank you. I will not let you down. I’m committed to serving with integrity, working tirelessly to guide Collier’s growth with purpose and intention. Together, we’ll build a thriving community — one that future generations will be proud to call home.”
The three candidates defeated Wayne Chiurazzi, who had 1,553 votes; Karianne Suter, 1,385 and Mark Lewis, 1,183. Chiurazzi and Suter are current commissioners.
“I am so very grateful to all who voted for me,” Cupples-Wisniowski said. “It will be an honor to serve as a Collier commissioner for four more years.
Cupples-Wisniowski is a current commissioner.
“I appreciate all the support and the good wishes. We have a growing township, and I will work hard to keep Collier a great place to live, work and play.”
Downey did not immediately return a request for comment on Wednesday.
