A new meadow is blooming at Bridgeville’s McLaughlin Run Park.

The park’s former ballfield area, now working as a flood control project, has recently been renovated into a passive wildflower meadow, according to the borough.

The park also includes educational signage about watersheds, riparian buffers, meadows and several new benches. Those amenities were made possible due to efforts by the Bridgeville Rotary Club and Lions Club, borough officials said.

Last year, the Rotary Club presented a check to Bridgeville Council for the meadow project.

Borough officials said at the time they hope the park meadow would improve the gateway into Bridgeville and give the area a recreational purpose while still maintaining its ability to mitigate flooding.
