South Fayette Township park facilities will open Monday with new safety guidelines in place.

According to the township website, playgrounds, courts, fields, indoor restrooms and rental pavilions in Fairview, Morgan, Boys Home, Preservation and Sturgeon parks will reopen. The township’s portion of the Panhandle Trail will also open.

Following Allegheny County Health Department and state Department of Health guidelines, the township will clean and sanitize playgrounds, bathroom facilities, benches and picnic tables daily.

Those who use the facilities are asked to maintain social distancing, wash hands frequently, wear a mask when possible, avoid touching and avoid sharing sports equipment.

There is a limit of 10 people at a time using playground equipment.

The ballfields will open to township athletic associations only with an approved plan. They are open for free play when not in use by an association.

Pavilion rentals will resume June 20. Previous rentals may be rescheduled but no new reservations are being accepted.
