Coronavirus case rates continue slowing in Hampton as of Feb. 3, 2021, but McCandless sees 14 deaths in past week
As coronavirus cases have begun to rise at a slower rate in Allegheny County and across the country, case rates have also slowed in the Hampton Journal area. While that’s the good news, the bad news is the number of covid-19 deaths in McCandless jumped by 14 during the past week.
As of Feb. 3, there have been 992 cases of the novel coronavirus in Hampton since March, according to the latest information provided by an interactive Allegheny County covid-19 map. The township has reported 11 deaths. A total of 5,196 tests have been administered to Hampton residents. Hampton’s case rate is 540 per 10,000 residents.
Since the pandemic began, McCandless has had 1,457 cases and 78 deaths, including 14 deaths in the past week. There have been 8,861 tests administered to McCandless residents, and the case rate is 512 per 10,000 residents.
